Ἀκρισίῳ δὲ περὶ παίδων γενέσεως ἀρρένων χρηστηριαζομένῳ ὁ θεὸς ἔφη γενέσθαι παῖδα ἐκ τῆς θυγατρός, ὃς αὐτὸν ἀποκτενεῖ. δείσας δὲ ὁ Ἀκρίσιος τοῦτο, ὑπὸ γῆν θάλαμον κατασκευάσας χάλκεον τὴν Δανάην ἐφρούρει. ταύτην μέν, ὡς ἔνιοι λέγουσιν, ἔφθειρε Προῖτος, ὅθεν αὐτοῖς καὶ ἡ στάσις ἐκινήθη: ὡς δὲ ἔνιοί φασι, Ζεὺς μεταμορφωθεὶς εἰς χρυσὸν καὶ διὰ τῆς ὀροφῆς εἰς τοὺς Δανάης εἰσρυεὶς κόλπους συνῆλθεν. αἰσθόμενος δὲ Ἀκρίσιος ὕστερον ἐξ αὐτῆς γεγεννημένον Περσέα, μὴ πιστεύσας ὑπὸ Διὸς ἐφθάρθαι, τὴν θυγατέρα μετὰ τοῦ παιδὸς εἰς λάρνακα βαλὼν ἔρριψεν εἰς θάλασσαν. προσενεχθείσης δὲ τῆς λάρνακος Σερίφῳ Δίκτυς ἄρας ἀνέτρεφε τοῦτον.

Traducción literal en castellano:

A Acrisio, consultando / al consultar / cuando consultaba / , que consultaba_al_oráculo, – χρηστηριαζομένῳ–  sobre el nacimiento de hijos varones, el dios (le) dijo que un hijo nacería  παῖδα γενέσθαι de su hija, el cual lo mataría ἀποκτενεῖ (literal: matará).  Acrisio, temiendo δείσας esto, construyendo κατασκευάσας una cámara broncínea bajo tierra, encerraba_bajo_vigilancia ἐφρούρει a Dánae; a ésta, según algunos dicen, la sedujo  ἔφθειρε Preto, por lo que surgió la rivalidad entre ellos (más literal: de donde precisamente la disputa fue promovida ἐκινήθη entre ellos); en cambio μέν … δὲ ….según algunos dicen, Zeus, transformado μεταμορφωθεὶς en oro y derramándose εἰσρυεὶς (<*εισ-ρυε-ε-ντ-ς ) a través del techo, se concentró συνῆλθεν en el regazo de Dánae.  Acrisio, al enterarse del nacimiento de Perseo (literal: enterado αἰσθόμενος posteriormente de Perseo, engendrado γεγεννημένον)  de ella,  no creyendo  πιστεύσας que había sido seducida (literal: (ella) haber sido seducida)  ἐφθάρθαι por Zeus, metiendo  βαλὼν a su hija junto con el niño en una caja (los) arrojó ἔρριψεν al mar. Arrastrada la caja  προσενεχθείσης δὲ τῆς λάρνακος hasta  Sérifos, Dictis recogiéndo(al niño) ἄρας (part sg aor act masc  de αἴρω)  lo criaba ἀνέτρεφε.

Traducció en anglès: (Perseus): When Acrisius inquired of the oracle how he should get male children, the god said that his daughter would give birth to a son who would kill him.¹ Fearing that, Acrisius built a brazen chamberunder ground and there guarded Danae.² However, she was seduced, as some say, by Proetus, whence arose the quarrel between them;³ but some say that Zeus had intercourse with her in the shape of a stream of gold which poured through the roof into Danae’s lap. When Acrisius afterwards learned that she had got a child Perseus, he would not believe that she had been seduced by Zeus, and putting his daughter with the child in a chest, he cast it into the sea. The chest was washed ashore on Seriphus, and Dictys took up the boy and reared him.
